JOIN VICTORIAN SEX WORKERS IN CALLING FOR THE FULL DECRIMINALISATION OF SEX WORK
“Sex worker organisations worldwide call for the full decriminalisation of sex work, as does Vixen Collective here in Victoria.

The full decriminalisation of sex work involves the removal of all criminal laws relating to sex work – this does not mean no regulation, but that sex work should be regulated like any other work.

Full decriminalisation of sex work is recognised as the worlds’ best practice model for sex work regulation – by organisations that support sex workers rights, health and safety worldwide..”

VICTORIAN GREENS RUNNING CANDIDATE WHO SUPPORTS HARMFUL ‘NORDIC MODEL’ LAWS *TAKE ACTION*
“The Victorian Greens are (yet again) running a candidate, Kathleen Maltzahn, in the seat of Richmond, who has a history of supporting ‘Nordic Model’ laws. If Maltzahn is elected this increases the chances that harmful ‘Nordic Model’ laws could be passed by the Liberal Party in Victoria, as well as giving a platform to someone who has spent their career opposing sex workers’ human rights and speaking over the voices of our community.

Join us in calling on the Victorian Greens to support sex worker rights and remove Maltzahn as a candidate.”

TAKE ACTION* AGAINST HARMFUL ‘NORDIC MODEL’ LAWS PROPOSED BY VICTORIAN LIBERAL PARTY
“On the 28th of April 2018 the Victorian Liberal Party passed a motion at the Liberal Party’s 165th State Council, to support harsh ‘Nordic Model’ laws for sex work regulation in Victoria. These ‘Nordic Model’ laws are “end demand” laws – meant to drive sex work out of existence.

If passed these laws would make work (and life) incredibly difficult and unsafe for sex workers in Victoria.

On 18th of May Hon. Matthew Guy MP, leader of the Victorian Liberal Party and Leader of the Opposition in Victorian Parliament, indicated that:
“The Liberal Nationals have no plan to adopt the ‘Nordic Model’ for the policing of sex work in Victoria”
While we welcome this statement from the Hon. Matthew Guy making clear that the Liberal Nationals have no plans to adopt the ‘Nordic Model’, we note that:

“No law or policy relating to sex work should be made without consultation with sex workers and our peer-based representative organisations..”
